Advanced: Towers
This page is to participate in upcoming Towers classes.
Towers is for intermediate-advanced comedy improvisers.
Do you sometimes feel:
⚡️stifled by structured longform?
⚡️frustrated by aimless freeform improv?
⚡️at a loss for where to go or what to do next?
Towers is for you.
Students will learn to:
⚡️lay groundwork for premise and seize comedic opportunities.
⚡️focus on overall show success, rather than individual scenes.
⚡️become more adept and confident in editing.
⚡️simplify comedic improvisation techniques.
⚡️sense and guide a show’s momentum.
⚡️perform simply and rediscover play.
⚡️follow the fear to find the fun.
Towers is an original longform structure that embodies the Thunderbolt Comedy motto: “Forward Fearlessly.”
It’s about momentum, embracing the new, following the fun, and keeping an audience only one step behind. Towers is a simple structure comprised of individual towers of scenes built atop one another but employs philosophies that train performers to be empowered to follow their impulses. Towers teaches a mastery of the tools of longform and a sense of freedom onstage.
Requirements:
⚡️Students must have taken at least two classes within an improv program.
